We (Ruth Hill and Loretta Andrews) are two friends who met during our first-time mums’ antenatal classes in 2009. We are passionate about being the best mums we can be but also not losing our identity as women in the process. We soon realised we’re not the only mums who feel this way, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. What can you realistically do in the busy world of a mum to fulfil both criteria of mum and woman?
A happy and fulfilled mum equals a happy and fulfilled child and vice versa.
We firmly believe you can have both! So, ‘More than a Mum’ aims to help you do just that: You’ll find practical and bite-sized chunks of information, support, encouragement and resources to help you be a brilliant mum AND rediscover your identity as a woman.
Ruth is a secondary school teacher and breastfeeding peer supporter. She is Mum to Munchkin, a 3-year-old girl, who really knows her own mind! She believes that everyone should have the chance to be who they want to be and that where there is a will to achieve, there is always a way.
